Making a Referral
If you are a professional and want to make a referral to First Contact please use the new* Children’s Services Referral Form.
First Contact aims to get families the support they need, when they need it, from the right service. The First Contact Service Guidance for Professionals will help you provide them with the details they need.
Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) Allegations Against Staff or Volunteers

Alternatively you can use the LADO Notification Form (updated 05/16) and email the referral to the Local Authority Designated Officer.

Independent Reviewing Officers (IRO)
An IRO is responsible for chairing a wide variety of meetings including Child Protection Conferences and Child Protection Reviews. For more detailed information on the Independent Reviewing Officers (IRO) role please visit the Durham County Council website.
